Lincoln County Sheriffs Department Report Week Ending October 6

LINCOLN COUNTY – Last week, Lincoln County Sheriff’s Deputies conducted 40 traffic stops and 25 security checks. There were nine calls involving cars hitting deer, and one call of hitting a bear. There were nine calls for unsafe driving.

On Tuesday Oct 1, a deputy stopped a vehicle on Hwy 51 near the 209 MM for a speeding. During the stop a Marathon County Sheriff’s K9 was called to assist. The K9 made a positive alert on the vehicle prompting a search, which revealed approximately 25 grams of methamphetamine. The 34-year-old male driver from Tomahawk was placed under arrest for possession of meth and bail jumping and was transported to the Lincoln County Jail.
